PM Oli not practically committing to constitution amendment: FSFN Chair Yadav
KATHMANDU, April 3: Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Chair Upendra Yadav Tuesday accused Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli of not being practically committed to the issues of constitution amendment.
The ruling left alliance is desperately making effort to bring FSFN on board the government in a bid to ensure a strong majority in the house. But the FSFN has insisted that they would participate in the government only if the Prime Minister signs the draft agreement reached with the left parties.
But, Prime Minister Oli has verbally assured the FSFN to revise the constitution based on ‘necessity and justification’ instead of signing the draft agreement.
“Even though Prime Minister Oli has assured us of revising constitution, he does not appear to have practically committed to revising constitution,” Yadav told Reporters’ Club.
“He seems reluctant to sign the written deal. Therefore, FSFN participating in the government will depend on the prime minister,” he added.
He however clarified the possibility of FSFN joining the government has only been a matter of discussion. “We have not made any agreements in this regard,” he clarified.
