He had headed to India on Friday at the cordial invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During his India visit—his first overseas trip after assuming office on February 15—Oli called on Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Indian Prime Minister Modi and other political leaders.

Talking briefly to reporters upon his return, Oli said that his visit was successful to improve Nepal’s relation with India.

Oli and Modi, on Saturday in New Delhi, jointly issued a 12-point communiqué aiming at expanding connectivity, enhance people-to-people linkages and promote economic growth and development of the two countries—the highlights of which were: New Partnership in Agriculture, Expanding Rail Linkages: Connecting Raxaul in India to Kathmandu in Nepal and New Connectivity between India and Nepal through Inland Waterways.
