Authoritarianism has already started in the country: NC president Deuba
CHITWAN, April 16: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has alleged the government of starting authoritarianism in the country.
Talking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport on Monday, the leader of the main opposition party said the government was working in an arbitrary way.
“It seems the government is trying to work in a monopolistic manner. Authoritarianism has already started. Arbitrariness has increased,” he said. Now they’re going to develop authoritarianism, Deuba said sarcastically.
The NC president said the hundred days of the government which is referred to as the ‘honeymoon period’ and they would observe the performance of the government after that.
“The government’s works in the initial phase itself show that development has taken place profoundly,” he said of the works of the government in a satirical tone.
“There is no consultation of any kind. They are doing it in their own way. They have not been able to work.”
When asked about the weak position of his party, the Nepali Congress president said, “Winning and losing an election is but natural when two parties strike an alliance.
He reiterated that the Nepali Congress would keep on fighting for the protection of democracy and struggling for the rights of the people in keeping with the democratic norms and values. RSS
