NC will move ahead in more consolidate way after CWC meeting: Lekhak

KAHTMANDU, April 21: Leader of main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), Ramesh Lekhak has said that the Nepali Congress will move ahead in a more consolidated way after the meeting of the central working committee (CWC) meeting.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Saturday, leader Lekhak said, “Nepali Congress central working committee meeting will resume from tomorrow. We are holding serious discussions of various issues including the reason behind the party’s unexpected defeat in the November 26 and December 7 House of Representatives and Province Assembly election.”

“It is normal for some disputes and conflicts to surface within the party. The CWC meeting will make considerable efforts to address them as well,” added Lekhak.

“After the CWC meeting the Nepali Congress will move ahead in a more consolidated way,” he expressed his confidence.

Lekhak further said that the CWC meeting will also finalize the issues for statute amendment, nomination of office bearers and Mahasamiti meeting.

He also said that date of General Convention was not the main agenda of the meeting. “We are focused on reviving the Nepali Congress party back to its popularity. There is no possibility of early Convention,” he said.
