Home Minister pledges govt commitment to security and good governance
LUMBINI, April 27: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ has said that the government was committed to deliver good governance and security.
Speaking at a face-to-face program organized by the Lumbini Press Club in Bhairahawa on Friday, he said the government was working for ensuring security to the citizens and maintaining law and order.
He reiterated that the government wanted to materialize people’s aspiration for peace, security and development, adding no one trying to create instability in the country would be let off the hook.
The Home Minister said the government would not leave any stone unturned for maintaining law and order.
Minister Thapa has arrived in Rupandehi in connection with the formulation of the province-level security plan of Province-5. The Home Secretary, the Inspector Generals of Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force and the Chief of the National Investigation Department are accompanying him.
The Home Minister also vowed to put to an end the syndicate monopoly in the transport sector to promote healthy competition.
Stating that the federal government to the provincial governments has started works on providing effective services to the people, he expressed the government’s commitment to stamping out crimes, smuggling and other petty crimes.
He said the government was moving ahead to preventing crime and maintaining law and order by formulating provincial level security action plans. He also claimed that the confusion seen in the security bodies would come to an end soon as the country has already adopted federal setup. RSS
