Minister Bista pledges to further work for occupational safety of workers
KATHMANDU, April 28: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, has said the government is responsible for working on the safety and health issues of workers as per the international standard.
Inaugurating the ’18th National Occupational Safety and Health Week -2075 BS’ organized by the Department of Labor, amidst a program on Saturday, the Minister assured of effective role by government bodies to strictly implement provisions for occupational safety and health of labor community.
He took the time to give his word for making corrections of incomplete provisions to further ensure the rights of workers. The Minister insisted on the need of combined efforts among all the people concerned to see improvements in the occupational safety and health of workers.
Prior to this, the Department held a morning rally which was attended by a large number of people including trade unions representatives, students of technical colleges and employers. The rally that was originated from the local Basantapur concluded upon reaching the Tundikhel. RSS
