Home Minister Thapa insists on ending all kinds of syndicate

POKHARA, May 14: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has insisted on the need for eliminating a system of syndicate for good governance and peace and security in the country and people’s conveniences.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the Press Center Nepal, Kaski on Monday, Home Minister Thapa said that transport, agricultural and industrial sectors in the country were taken hold by this system which he termed a hindrance to economic prosperity.

All sorts of syndicate need to be removed and the government would proactively to end the culture of hooliganism, he said, calling for support from all quarters to this end.

According to him, economic prosperity is the demand of the nation, and the left parties are going to be one to bring political stability in the country for attaining nation’s prosperity.

Thapa further said that the unification process between CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN-UML has reached the final phase. Thapa represents Maoist Center in the UML-led coalition government.

“Ideological, political and organizational basis has been created for the unification. The unification date will be announced soon, and the country will pursue development and prosperity following the merger,” he said.

Saying some individuals during Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Nepal made a public statement that would dent national independence and dignity, he said the self who made such statement should own up this act, but the government is not responsible.
