Lawmakers stress on effective implementation of policies and programs
KATHMANDU, May 24: Lawmakers taking part in the deliberations on the government’s policies and programs in Thursday’s meeting of the House of Representatives have focused on their effective implementation.
They have opined that the policies and programs will remain ineffective unless it is properly implemented in action.
Taking part in the deliberations, lawmaker Agni Sapkota said that the middle men’s presence in each sector was wrong therefore government should strictly end it. He further added that the implementation part should be stronger for better results.
Laxman Lal Karna said that the constitution amendment was imperative for peace.
Rajendra Shrestha said that the phrase ‘federal democratic republic’ was not mentioned in the policies and programs which was regrettable.
Lawmaker Jaypuri Gharti opined for implementing the policies and programs as it was brought with the foundation of taking the nation ahead on the path of socialism.
Lawmaker Dilendra Prasad Badu demanded a rewrite of the policies and programs terming them a way to deceive people’s representatives by incorporating long-term goals although the policies and programs are just for the FY 2075\76, and negligence to strengthen federalism.
Rabindra Raj Sharma supported the government’s policies and programs terming them practical, while Man Kumari GC, Prem Prasad Tulachan and Chandra Chaudhary demanded their implementation word by word.
Chhakka Bahadur Lama suggested to the government focusing on tourism for the development of Karnali Province and increasing investment in energy.
Devendra Poudel stood by the policies and programs which have incorporated plans to blacktop roads at local levels within five years, construct east west railway, Birgunj-Kathmandu Railway and Rasuwagadhi-Kathmandu Railway, and increase country’s economy by double digits among others. RSS
