12 killed, 15 injured in Palpa bus mishap

KATHMANDU, June 1: At least 12 passengers were killed and fifteen injured when a passenger bus (Lu Kha 975) met with an accident at Humin of Rambha Rural municipality-4 in Palpa on Friday.

The passenger bus heading to Rampur from Tansen veered 200 meters off the road at around 9: 00 AM, according to the sources.

“Twelve passengers have been killed and thirteen have sustained injuries, “ said DSP Binod Ghimire. “The injured are receiving treatment at Lumbini Medical Hospital and United Mission Hospital,” he added.

The deceased are Bishnuman Bajracharya and Krishna Bahadur Bohora of Tansen Municipality-4; Loknath Dhakal of Tansen-2; Basanti Khand, Debendra Lal Pradhan, Krishna Man Bajracharya, Chhatra Man Shakya and Sushil Prasad Shrestha of Tansen-3; Durga Bahadur Saru and Gita Budhathoki of Tansen-6; Sachin Bajracharya and Kamala Karki of Tansen bazaar.

The deceased were on an observation tour from local Laxmi Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited, Tansen when the accident occurred.
