Even the landlord of Prachanda will be punished: Home Minister Thapa

KATHMANDU, June 6: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ Wednesday warned that the government will take stern action against the contractors who fail to complete their task before the given deadline.

“All the under-performing contractors, be it house owners, lawmakers, political leader who betray the nation working against law will be brought in the range of action,” said Minister Thapa at a press conference today.

Responding to the journalists, Thapa said that even if the contractor is the landlord of Nepal Communist Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, he will be punished.

Shailung Construction owned by the landlord of Prachanda, Sharada Prasad Adhikari, has been under-performing a number of projects it has been contracted with. It even has raised questions if Adhikari, who is considered close to Prachanda, is politically protected.

“If a contractor or a construction company delays its work or does not complete its work in the given time, the state will take it as against the law and will be taken action against,” he added.
