Gangster Ashok Lama injured in police encounter
KATHMANDU, June 10: Notorious Gangster Ashok Lama was injured in a police encounter at UN Park in Lalitpur on Monday, according to reports. The 38-year-old, a member of Dawa Lama Gang, has been hospitalized at Bir Hospital after he sustained injuries in leg in police firing.
A team of Metropolitan Crime Division had reached UN Park and tried to search Lama but he reportedly attacked the police compelling them to open fire at him, according to SP Narayan Upreti, reported Kantipur.
Police have confiscated one pistol and two round bullets from his possession.
Lama has already served jail term for two times in charge of murder. He has also been found involving in extorting money from construction businessman.
