PSC marks its 68th anniversary

KATHMANDU, June 15: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has directed the concerned sides to prepare capable, committed and ideal administrators in the country.

Speaking in a program organized to mark 68th anniversary of Public Service Commission (PSC) on Friday, she suggested for bringing the programs to enhance skills adopting modern technology in work execution through trainings.

The Head of the State further expressed confidence that the commission will assimilate the issues related to stability, permanent peace and economic prosperity adding that such strategic plan of the PSC has addressed these issues.

President Bhandari also suggested not forgetting the responsibility of neutrality, transparency, and the quality of the PSC’s services. She opined that no sides should undermine the image, importance and dignity of the PSC.

Similarly, Commission chair Umesh Prasad Mainali said that the PSC was the center of hope for educated youths as it was the first constitutional body of the nation. He also stressed on developing the online system in its activities which could be done through IT.

Chair Mainali further said that the employees’ enrollment process should be scientific so that only excellent aspirants could be selected to serve the nation.

The commission member Shree Purush Dhakal shared that the commission was launching its activities following neutrality, impartiality and capability.

Secretary at the Commission Mahendra Prasad Guragain has said that the PSC was preparing a three-year strategic plan prioritizing the use on new technology to make its work effective and scientific.

On the occasion, President Bhandari feted employees with the ‘excellent work execution’ awards.

Public Service Commission (PSC) Nepal established on 15 June 1951 AD is a constitutional body involved in selecting meritorious candidates required by Government of Nepal for Civil Service vacancy. It is believed as one of the most credible modes of recruitment. RSS
