Govt issues special request to remain alert of flood in Terai, Chure regions

KATHMANDU, June 29: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology on Friday issued a special request notice asking people to remain alert and stay prepared of possible floods in Terai and Chure regions.

“As the Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecasted possible heavy rainfall in the Terai, chure and mid-hilly regions tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, possibly causing overflow of rivers in Chure regions, we request all the people of the districts in Terai, Chure and mid-hilly regions to remain alert and be prepared for the possible flood,” the department said in the notice.

“We also request the people of the lower areas of the hilly regions prone to landslide to remain alert,” it wrote.
