Foreign Affairs Minister invites NRNs to contribute for nation’s progress and prosperity

KATHMANDU, July 30: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has underlined the role of non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) in Nepal’s development efforts and urged the NRNS to contribute in all possible ways to the goal of progress and prosperity.

Minister Gyawali made such remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 11th European Regional Meeting and 9th European Regional Women Meeting of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) on Sunday in Luxembourg.

Minister Gyawali appreciated the NRNA’s initiatives on expanding its network across the world for bringing together and organizing Nepali Diaspora for the common cause, according to a press release from Embassy of Nepal in Brussels, Belgium. Its commitment, efforts, and actions towards promoting the interests of Nepali communities living abroad, building national image, and contributing to Nepal’s efforts to develop and modernize through Diaspora-development nexus are truly commendable, Minister Gyawali shared.

Likewise, he highlighted the major priorities of the government and stated that take on the long overdue agenda of economic development was the topmost priority of the government.

On the occasion, he invited the NRNs to forge partnerships for productive and innovative utilization of their resources, experiences, knowledge and skills to support the government slogan of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.

Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Minister for Education, Children and Youth of Luxembourg Claude Meisch, Ambassador of Nepal to BENELUX countries Lok Bahadur Thapa and others also addressed the event. RSS
