PHSC for resorting to constitutional provision on CJ endorsement
KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) on Wednesday ended inclusively on whether to endorse the name of proposed Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshi to the Chief Justice after the Nepali Congress lawmakers denied going for constitutional process.
Although there is a constitutional provision that PHSC can adopt the voting to decide on the proposed name if the consensus eludes, NCs lawmakers denied it.
NCP lawmaker and PHSC member Yogesh Bhattarai said, “Efforts were on for consensus, but NC rejected the voting.”
