Lower House passes condolence motion on Rana’s demise
KATHMANDU, Aug 12: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday passed a condolence motion on the demise of former lawmaker Bharat Shamser Rana. He was the main opposition leader in the Nepal’s first parliament.
Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara presented the motion which was later passed unanimously. The meeting observed a minute-silence as well. In the first general election of 2015BS, he had been elected to the House of Representatives from Dhading district on behalf of the Gorkha Parishad.
The Nepali Congress former leader had passed away on August 10 at his residence in Kolkata, India, due to a heart-attack at the age of 91.
