Kalanki underpass operative

KATHMANDU, August 18: The first and much-hyped underpass constructed in Kalanki Chowk has come into operation from Friday.

With the underpass in operation, the vehicles coming to the Kathmandu Valley and leaving to the districts outside would pass through this route without creating traffic congestion- a huge relief to the travelers.

Chief of Ring Road Expansion Project Prakash Bhandari said that two lanes of the underpass were opened while two others would come into operation after a month after clearing the construction materials.

All four lanes of the underpass would be used within a month. The underpass was constructed with the financial assistance of Chinese government, he added. RSS
