Education policy should be changed: Chief Minister Gurung

POKHARA, Aug 18: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said time has come to change the education policy, for it has failed to produce human resources required for the country.

Inaugurating the 60th anniversary of the Dharapani Secondary School of Annapurna Rural Municipality-3 of Kaski district today, Chief Minister Gurung underscored the need of technological education, which would promote entrepreneurship. It is not good to delay the agro-engineering campus at Dhikurpokhari.

He expressed commitment that Gandaki Province would be a model province with its development and reduction of poverty by fifty percent in five years. In coming five years, the old age allowance would be reached Rs 5,000 per month, he added.
On the occasion, lawmaker for the federal parliament, Durga BK, reminded that lack of technical knowledge was resulted in unemployment in Nepal.

Nepali Congress leader Shukra Raj Sharma however said moral education was imperative at present time and the employment oriented education could be promoted from the very school level.

Provincial lawmaker Rajiv Pahari provided two water filtering machines worth Rs 33,000 to each. RSS
