Bhutanese dignitary arrives in Kathmandu


KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bhutan, Lyonpo Tshering Wangchuk, arrived in Kathmandu this morning to take part in the Fourth Summit Meeting of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwar Pokharel received the Bhutanese dignitary at the VVIP bay of the Tribhuvan International Airport. Officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also at the airport to welcome Mr Wangchuk.

A contingent of the Nepalese Army presented a guard of honour on the occasion.
The Summit is taking place in Kathmandu on 30 and 31 August.
