Indian PM Modi arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the capital this morning to participate in the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Fourth Summit.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwar Pokharel welcomed him at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport. A contingent of Nepalese Army presented a guard of honor to the Indian Prime Minister.

Chief of Protocol Deepak Adhikari, India’s ambassador for Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri and Chief of the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi Bharat Kumar Regmi were also welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the airport.
