Gaura Parva celebrated in Kathmandu (Photo features)

KATHMANDU, Sep 3: People from mid and far-western regions residing in Kathmandu valley celebrated the Gaura Parva by organizing special function at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on Monday.

Deuda dance and song are the main attraction of the festival. Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Nepali Congress leader Dilendra Prasad Badu, Ramesh Lekhak, NP Saut participated in the Deuda dance.

On this day, women worship goddess Garui, the wife of Lord Shiva for long and healthy life of their husbands.
