PM Oli rules out possibility of Cabinet reshuffle

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma has ruled out the possibility of reshuffle in the Council of Ministers immediately.

In his address to the first gathering of the District Coordination Committees’ Federation, Nepal, the PM said the intention of those wishing to make the government instable was behind the rumor that the government was being reshuffled.

“Nothing will change. No ministers will be changed if they continue good performance,” he said at the program attended by Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Lalbabu Pandit, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, and Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Thammaya Thapa. He urged members in his Cabinet not to be feared by such rumor.

“The government is working with its farsighted and clear vision to meet the goals of development and prosperity.We are moving ahead by strengthening of relations with neighbours and promoting mutual collaboration and some people have not liked it,” he PM underscored.

The Kathmandu Valley, as the PM asserted, will be dust and mud-free in the next six months with proper management of roads and drainage. Roads here would be blacktopped within the next years, he assured.

Stating that the latest transit agreement reached with China is remarkable, the PM said a survey would be started soon to operate ship in the Koshi and Gandaki rivers.

According to the PM, the success and failure of the country’s federal republic system has been connected with the effectiveness of local levels. He called upon the Federation representatives to work in a dynamic, result-oriented and transparent way, considering themselves as people’s representatives.

He went on to say that the country’s Civil Code was endorsed by the parliament a year ago and came into effect from August 17. The government was ready to amend it if there was the need for so. PM Oli urged people concerned not to protest in the street over it.

Federation representatives called on the government to keep on the effective role of monitoring and coordination by empowering them with adequate resources. RSS
