Prakash Dahal’s first death anniversary commemorated
Kathmandu, Nov 19 : The family of Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ the chair of Communist party of Nepal (CPN) and former Prime Minister, organized a programme today to mark the death anniversary of his son Prakash Dahal.
Prakash, the politburo member of the then CPN (Maoist Center) had died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 36.
CPN’s chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, leader Dahal and members of the Dahal family and well wishers paid tributes to the late Dahal.
On this sad moment, Prime Minister Oli remembered Prakash as a friendly and practical person with good managerial skills.
Stating that the untimely demise of Prakash had caused an irreparable loss not only to his family but also to his Party and nation, PM Oli said, “It is painful moment for occur an untimely death.
Prakash’s death was of such thing. It is very exemplary that the deceased’s family has shown patience even at the time of grief.”
On the occasion, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and CPN’s chairs released a memorial titled ‘ Prakash Dahal’ published by the Pragya Memorial Trust in memory of the late Dahal.
Chairperson Dahal said that due to the goodwill and the support of the people and his party’s cadres during the tragedy, he got an inspiration to turn pain into power.
Seemingly, there was a lump in Dahal’s throat and his spouse, Sita Dahal, was in sobs as he talked about his departed son who served in the capacity of the Secretariat member in then CPN-Maoist Centre.
It was shared that a foundation would be set up in memory of the Dahal couples’ deceased son Prakash and daughter Gyanu.
Present at the Condolence Assembly were Speaker of the House Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Ministers Jhalanath Khanal, Lokendra Bahadur Chand and Baburam Bhattarai, former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi, leaders as Mohan Baidya, Mahantha Thakur and Kamal Thapa among others.
They also offered condolences to the departed soul. The memorial consists of jottings by PM Oli, Chairperson Dahal, Speaker Mahara, Prakash’s spouse and Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Bina Magar among others.
