Govt pays heed to workers’ problems: Minister Thapa
Kathmandu, Dec, 16 : Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Thammaya Thapa has said resolving the problems of workers from all sectors was the first priority of the government.
Speaking in a programme organized by the Liberty Campaign on violence against women working in the informal sectors, Minister Thapa shared that the government was effortful to pay heed to the problems of workers from the informal sectors.
Speaking in the same programme, Nepali Congress parliamentary party whip Pushpa Bhusal opined for recognizing the workers of all sectors.
Chair of the campaign Ritu Bhattarai informed that about 100 thousand women were involved in hospitality and entertainment sectors and their professions should be identified by State.
Bhatatrai also added that about 78 percent workers were engaged in the informal sectors in the country. Dohori singer Rita Limbu complained that they were not getting identity cards and social recognition as well. (RSS)
