Development activities to speed up: PM Oli
Kathmandu, Jan 2 (RSS): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the country would see the acceleration of development activities now.
During a meeting at his residence, Baluwatar, with the leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal and people’s representatives at local levels of Jhapa district on Wednesday, PM Oli, who is also the Chairman of the party assured that the uncertainty over which – province or local level- to begin development activities was now clear. “Development projects therefore gain pace,” he added.
On the occasion, Damak municipality chief administrative officer, Ganesh Prasad Timsina, informed the PM about the progress of the national project being begun there.
As per the information he shared, the Damak assembly hall was under construction; livestock market centre was completed; and the detailed project report of the Damak view tower was prepared. Five bighas of land was acquired under municipality’s name for the construction of the view tower, Timsina added.
Moreover, he shared that preparation was on to distribute the compensation relating to construction of the Damak industrial estate and seven bighas of land was acquired by the municipality for the construction of the tallest Buddha statue.
The DPR for the construction of the tallest statue has been prepared and Damak municipality has formed a committee under the coordination of Mayor to carry out necessary coordination and initiatives for the arrangement of land.
PM Oli was further informed about the progress made in the construction of municipality building, Rose garden with ghantaghar, model housing for poor people and tower run by Damak municipality.
On the occasion, Mayor of Kankai municipality, Rajendra Pokharel, demanded with the PM to allocate the necessary budget for the construction of Surunga-Jhapa road and Laxmi-Gherabari road as well as to allocate at least Rs 10 million for the construction of 25-bed hospital at Kankai and tourism infrastructure.
Similarly, Mayor of Arjundhara municipality, Hari Rana, also briefed the PM of development activities of the municipality.
The PM Oli said that he was positive towards the demands put forth by Jhapa people’s representatives, according to the PM’s Secretariat.
NCP central committee members Naresh Kharel and Devendra Dahal, lawmaker Pabitra Niraula, former lawmaker Deepak Karki, Coordinator of District Coordination Committee, Jhapa, Somnath Portel, Mayor of Damak municipality, Romnath Oli, among others were in the delegation. RSS
