NBA draws CJs attention over stripping Joshi off responsibility

Kathmandu, Jan 7 : Nepal Bar Association (NBA) said its serious attention was drawn over Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana’s act of removing justice Deepak Raj Joshi from senior ranking, judicial council and constitutional council.

The act of denying bench to the senior-most justice is not only anti-constitutional and unlawful but also is against the principle of natural justice, stated a press release issued by NBA general secretary Khamb Bahadur Khati.

NBA has demanded Chief Justice Rana immediately withdraw his illegal decision and perform in a way to safeguard independent judiciary, rule of law, human rights and justice.

The judiciary and Chief Justice should not work under pressure from any side in delivering justice, the release reads. RSS
