CJ Rana commits to elevating judiciary’s image



Kathmandu, Jan 11 : Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR has said the persons working against the conscience and judicial discipline could not be allocated responsibilities in the judiciary.

At a programme organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association here in the capital city to welcome Rana as the new CJ here Friday, he shared that he would work as per the commitment expressed in the parliamentary hearing committee to further elevate the image of the judiciary.

He added that he would not digress from the constitutional responsibilities. On barring the responsibly of SC Justice Deepak Raj Joshi, he said that the decision was taken after holding discussions with other justices at the Supreme Court.

Similarly, speaking in the same programme, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanubhakta Dhakal urged the CJ Rana to work in a manner he would win the aspiration of public and fulfill the constitutional responsibilities.

Attorney General Agni Kharel also committed to supporting judiciary.

However, Nepal Bar Association Chairman Sher Bahadur KC drew the attention of CJ Rana on not allocating the responsibility to senior Justice Joshi.
