National consensus must for prosperity: Prachanda

Gorkha, Jan 11 : Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said fulfilling the agenda of development and prosperity was the national need.

Inaugurating the second Arughat Festival organsied at Arughat of Gorkha on Friday, Chairperson Dahal said that political stability in the country after 70 years of struggle was possible only with the national consensus.

He reiterated that development and prosperity could be achieved from the national consensus. “We have been successful to promulgate the constitution through consensus, which is the best one in the world. Three-tiers of election were also possible with the consensus,” he reminded.

Saying they were ready to correct weaknesses that took place in course of carrying out various decisions, he also urged the major opposition Nepali Congress to join hands with government in the campaign of prosperity.

The Chairperson further said no one could obstruct the construction works of Budhigandaki Hydropower Project, the national pride project, adding that the government has forwarded activities in order to complete the task of distributing compensation to victims of Budhigandaki project. (RSS)
