KATHMANDU, May 3: Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has assured that the government will settle all the grievances of the employees incorporated in the adjustment process by the end of the month.

The government concluded the adjustment of 100,031 civil servants in all three tiers of government on March 28. The discontented employees had until April 8 to register their complaints related to adjustments.

So far, more than 20,000 civil servants have registered their complaints at complaint management committee seeking review in their adjustment.

“Most of the complaints of employees under administrative service group have been settled. We are studying complaints of remaining group one by one,” said Minister Pandit speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Friday.

“The complaints will be addressed based on the Employees Adjustment law,” he added.

“Only the valid complaints will be addressed,” he furthered.

“In case of those employees adjusted far from the previous office, those couples adjusted in different locations, physically disabled and those suffering serious illness will be readjusted as per their application,” he said adding, “Women’s complaints will be given primary focus.”

According to him, the vacant post in the local levels will be filled first since there is more pressure of works at local units.

“We have already asked for the details of vacant posts. After we receive the details, we will write to the Public Service Commission for vacancy announcements,” he said.

“There will be no problems regarding service delivery due to the shortage of employees from the next fiscal year,” he added.
