Chairman Dahal urges local representatives to win people’s hearts
KATHMANDU, May 19: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said people’s representatives at the local level should work by winning people’s hearts.
While inaugurating the newly constructed ward building of Lalitpur metropolis-26 at Dholahiti amidst a program on Sunday, the former Prime Minister urged the local representatives to do their best to make the people feel that they were getting the ever-best services from the local level.
“The model of three-tier government is implemented in a bid to decentralize the administrative power from the Singha Durbar to the local level for the convenience of locals and the local representatives are expected to keep this fact in mind,” he said, adding that though budgetary constraint and lack of sufficient infrastructure are issues in case of many local levels to provide services meeting the people’s aspirations, the people’s representatives should focus on to deliver the results in people’s favor.
Stating that development and prosperity of Lalitpur was his aspiration as well, he assured of arranging a meeting of people’s representatives with the prime minister to identify better ways for development and in regard with the Kathmandu Tarai-Madhesh fast track, which covers the district as well.
NCP standing committee member and lawmaker Pampha Bhusal and Lalitpur metropolis mayor Chiribabu Maharjan were also present on the occasion.
Meantime, leader Dahal today attended the screening of a documentary titled ‘ Bhairabnath Gana (Battalion)’ made by Durga KC.
He described the documentary as the real picture of the conflict, expressing his hope that it would inspire all and be a source of knowledge. KC has tried to reflect challenges and hardship she went through during the search of her missing husbands for 18 months.
As she said, media played a greater role in searching for her spouse. The documentary will be screened in the country and aboard. RSS
