Ex-Crown Princess Himani Shah to establish disaster relief fund

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Former Crown Princess Himani Shah has announced to establish a disaster relief fund to help the victims of natural disasters.

Organizing a press conference in the capital on Sunday, Shah, also the president of Himani Trust, made the announcement.

“The fund will be utilized to provide assistance to flood and landslide affected people across the country,” she said.

Himani Trust, a non-profit and apolitical non-governmental organization, works towards uplifting the quality of life in important sectors such as sustainable livelihood, children, education, health, senior citizens, environment and natural disasters.

On the occasion, Shah unveiled a book entitled “Sandesh Sangraha”, a compilation of speeches delivered by former king and her father-in-law Gyanendra Shah on various occasions.
