NCP closer to finalizing organizational responsibilities
KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Nepal Communist Party has come closer to finalizing its organizational responsibilities to keep the party intact and cater to its senior leaders of both current Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister and Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Prime Minister Oli after his return from his routine health check-up in Singapore had sped up consultations within the party to finalize names that would hold key positions within the party.
Chairman Duo Oli and Dahal have held serious negotiations that would be detrimental for the party’s unity and future. Inside sources say that the negotiations between the two went on for two days where they arrived at a mutual decision.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Bam Dev Gautam is most likely to be given the charge as head of the Party organizational unit. This was agreed upon by both Oli and Dahal.
Similarly, the School Training Department is most likely to be given to former Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha. The latter is close to the Dahal faction, and they have been claiming to head this department which had earlier led to failed negotiations.
Both Oli and Dahal had gone abroad keeping the entire process of selection in uncertainty. There have been power-sharing difficulties between various leaders and hence they were unable to come into any specific conclusion.
