Nepal Kyokushin-Kan Karate Association sacks secretary Maharjan
KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Nepal Kyokushin-Kan Karate Association has sacked its secretary Ajay Maharjan on Saturday.
The Association has accused Maharjan of working against the statute, misusing letter pads and stamp, permitting illegitimate Gurjudhara-based dojo to organize a tournament, skipping important meetings and seminars and working with non-affiliated associations.
“The association, as per the decision of July 16, 2019 meeting, had written to Maharjan seeking clarification within five days of time based on Article 6 (20) 1. Maharjan had received the letter on July 30 but, however, had failed to respond within the given deadline. The association, therefore, as per the decision of the meeting held on August 6 in line with the Article 6 (20) 1 (B) decides to part ways Ajay Maharjan,” the Association General Secretary Surya Bahadur Budathoki stated through a press release during a press conference organized at the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Saturday.
“The association condemns Maharjan’s actions as shameful. We hope the National Sports Council takes strong action against Maharjan and bans him from any sort of sports-related activities,” he added.
