Chinese Foreign Minister Wang arrives in Kathmandu for three-day official visit

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi has arrived in Kathmandu for a 3-day official visit to Nepal. He landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 3:45 pm.

Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi received him at the airport.

During his visit, Wang, also State Councilor, will pay courtesy calls of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and hold discussions on China’s Belt and Road Initiative and China-assisted development projects, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal (MoFA).

Wang will also hold delegation-level bilateral talks with his counterpart Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Monday. The two ministers will hold talks on various issues of Nepal-China bilateral trade including Tatopani and Kerung checkpoint and cross-border railway.

Gyawali will host a dinner honor of the visiting dignitary in the evening.

Wang will return to Beijing on Tuesday.
