Crossfire between Indo-Pak, two Gorkha soldiers of Nepali origin martyred

TANGDHAR, Oct 20: Havildar Padam Shrestha and Rifleman Gamil Kumar Shrestha were martyred during crossfire in the Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

The Pakistan army that started firing across the border were met with a matching response leading to the death of 11 Pakistani soldiers and 22 terrorists who had their camps decimated.

The Indian army has accused Pakistan once again for violating the peace in the line of control (LoC). The situation grew tense over the week when a mortar shell struck a 27-year-old woman who succumbed to her injuries.

The relations between India and Pakistan has not normalized yet after India abrogated the special status given to Kashmir, and restructured the region into union territories. Pakistan has opposed India’s internal move and they have been at odds since then.
