Macabre rape and murder of a doctor in Telangana shocks the world

Telangana, India: A 26-year-old doctor was raped and killed in Hyderabad earlier this week and her charred remains have been found according to the Cyberabad Police of the Indian state of Telangana.

The victim a veterinarian was caught in a pre-planned crime of 4 who were arrested later on.

According to the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar at a press briefing on Friday said “it was a pre-planned rape and murder and the accused were said to have kept a watch on the victim’s movements. The tire of her vehicle, which she had parked near the Tondupalli toll plaza, was deliberately punctured and she was unwittingly trapped by them”.

Commissioner Sajjanar further said “she was forcibly taken by four men who were drunk at that time, at around 9.40 pm local time after she made her last call to her sister. As per the post-mortem reports, she has been gang-raped and tortured before they strangled and killed her in an empty plot behind the Tondupally toll plaza at the outer ring road at Shamshabad”.

“They committed the act in the open. This was a plot of empty land, very close to the toll plaza and near a busy road”.

“They removed the license plates and left the vehicles 40 km from the site, after which they went to a bridge near Shadnagar town in Ranga Reddy district, knowing it was a desolate place. Then they wrapped her body in a bedsheet, poured kerosene and burnt her. They left the body burning and escaped”.

It is said that those who raped and killed the doctor had plotted the entire plan while consuming alcohol. One of them punctured her scooter’s tire when she was not around while another offered to help her fix when she came back, telling her all repair shops were closed. They then raped her, killed her and set her on fire.

Four people have been arrested and the investigations are ongoing. The accused taken into custody as stated by the Shadnagar police station are Mohammad Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu.

The police have now sent this case to a fast track court and are seeking maximum punishment to the accused.

This is the second horrific case straight after Nirbhaya where the savages, in that case, are still waiting for their death penalty and are locked in Delhi’s Tihar jail.

Within days after the murder of Dr. Priyanka, another charred body of a 35-year-old woman was found in the same area. The investigations in the latter’s case are ongoing and the body has been sent to a government hospital for autopsy.

Commissioner Sajjana said “body was found in an open area on the outskirts of Shamshabad. It is being moved to a government hospital for autopsy, the case being registered”.
