Govt efforts to return encroached territories briefed at NCP meeting
KATHMANDU, June 26 : The ongoing meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has held discussion on government’s efforts on settling border dispute with India.
The NCP standing committee meeting began from Wednesday is holding discussion on various pressing issues and it discussed in the government’s efforts made to return Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek areas on Friday. These Nepali territories are encroached upon by Indian sides.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, also the standing committee member of the party, Pradeep Gyawali, briefed about government’s efforts and India’s response to it. He however opposed the issue that Nepali territories were encroached by China and added that it was fake and surfaced with vested interest of irresponsible sides.
According to Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa, a total of 18 standing committee leaders expressed their views the Friday meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. Another Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli remained absent at today’s meeting. The meeting will convene again at 11 am Saturday.RSS /Photo :Surya Thapa
