167 new COVID-19 cases reported, 213 recovered and return home



Kathmandu, 16th July 2020: Altogether 167 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country, taking the COVID-19 infection tally to 17,344 as of now.

In a routine media briefing organized by the Ministry of Health and Population here today, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautan shared that a total of 4,981 nasal and throat swabs were tested in 27 labs across the country in the last 24 hours in which 167 new cases of this deadly infection were confirmed.

Dr Gautam further shared that altogether 213 COVID-19 patients were discharged from treatment facility in the last 24 hours upon their full recovery. With this, a total of 11,249 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection and were sent home.

So far, 39 people have succumbed to this flu-like infection in the country, according to the Ministry. The new cases were reported from Dhanusha, Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Makawanpur, Surkhet, Dang, Banke, Rupandehi, Pyuthan, Baglung among others districts. RSS
