Nepali Embassy holds reception to celebrate Dashain in Israel



Herzilya (Israel): Prahlad Kumar Prasai, Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Israel, hosted a reception on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, Shuva Deepawali, Nepal Sambat New Year and Chhat Parba at his residence in Herzliya, Israel on October 24, 2012.

A large number of members of the Nepali community in Israel, Nepali professionals working at various international organizations including the UN, Nepali students studying at various Universities in Israel, Israeli friends of Nepal and Embassy officials and their families, a group of visiting Nepali journalists from the Everest Times (Nepal), NRN Israel representatives, two world cyclists Biresh Dahal and Janardan Khanal were present on the occasion.

While exchanging the greetings with all guests, Ambassador Prasai highlighted the importance of all Nepali festivals falling during this season including Vijaya Dashami. He stated that these festivals are the symbols of Nepal and portrayed the rich cultural heritage of Nepal which helps keep Nepali people united for ages with brotherhood, affinity and cordiality.

On the occasion, Ambassador extended his best wishes to Nepali community in Israel for their good health, peace and progress. During the programme, Mr. Ramesh Prasad Khanal, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Nepal, Mr. Subash Kharel, NRN Israel Chairman, Mr. Biresh Dahal, world cyclist and Miss Nisa Puri, student at the Technion Institute, Haifa also expressed their best wishes on the occasion of Shuva Vijaya Dashami and other festivals of Nepal.

Nepali nationals and other Israeli guests also received tika and prasad from the Ambassador and Madame Sita Kumari Prasai on the occasion. The Tika ceremony lasted for about one and half hours.

Ambassador’s residence was turned into a Nepali house with interaction with Nepali nationals, delicious Nepali dishes and Malshree dhun during the entire program that lased for four hours, the Embassy of Nepal I Israel stated in a press release. RSS
