Bus accident in Eastern Nepal kills 1, injures over 2 dozen

SAPTARI, NEPAL: A man was dead and around two dozen passengers were critically injured when two vehicles collided with each other at Amaha of Pasera VDC Ward No. 9 in Saptari district along the East-West Highway this morning.

Bus driver Ramchandra Gupta of Rajbiraj Municipality Ward No. 8 died on the spot when the bus ( Na 4 Kha 6633) bound to Birgunj from Rajbiraj and another bus ( Na 4 Kha 4735) heading towards Fattepur from Kathmandu collided with each other.

Bus driver Kumar Limbu, 35, of Ranke VDC Ward No. 3 in Ilam district and 14 passengers were critically injured in the incident.

The critically injured 14 passengers have been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for treatment, according to Area Police Office, Kalyanpur.

Other passengers are undergoing treatment at Lahan-based Hospital in Siraha district. RSS
