Nepal’s bigwig join Karan’s party, journos kept at bay

KATHMANDU: At a time when agitation and mutual discussion among the parties for ending protracted political impasse are taking place simultaneously, top leaders of major parties, former prime ministers and visiting Indian leader featured together in a banquet party on Friday evening.

A gathering of the leaders was made in a dinner reception hosted by Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati Shumsher Rana at Bijayabas at Maharajgunj.

Visiting Indian leader Karan Singh was also present in the reception.

The dinner party was attended by Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairperson Jhalanath Khanal and former prime ministers including Sher Bahadur Deuba, Surya Bahadur Thapa, Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Madhav Kumar Nepal, among other leaders .

Journalists were prevented from entering the reception site. RSS
