Kathmandu ups power cut, now 14 hours/day
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s sole electricity provider, Nepal Electricity Authority, has increased daily electricity cut by two hours from Saturday onwards.
With the changes into effect, the NEA will provide electricity for only 10 hours a day.
The changes come despite Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s pledge to not exceed load shedding hours to 12 hours a day.
In its statement, the NEA has claimed that the more power cut has been proposed owing to the depletion of water level in its reservoir.
