New panel in Nepal Press Institute



KATHMANDU: The tenth annual general meeting of Nepal Press Institute (NPI), country’s pioneer media research and training institute, has unanimously elected a nine-member new working committee on Friday.

Shobha Gautam, Nilkantha Upreti, Tirtha Koirala, Kamal Pradhan, Tapanath Shukla, Manteswari Rajbhandari, Sharachchandra Wasti, Kundan Aryal and Laxma Upreti. Upreti is the former commissioner at the Election Commission while Koirala works at Kantipur Television.

Similarly, Pradhan is the former general manager of country’s news agency—National News Agency.

Likewise, Wasti is a noted linguist while former editor of Himal Magazine Aryal, a UML supporter, is a lecturer at RR College.

The Chairperson, Vice-chair, General Secretary and Treasurer will be appointed from among the newly elected working committee members.
