Paudel rules out consensus unless Prachanda personally invites SK for PM
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel has warned that the ongoing political status quo won’t resolve unless the UCPN Maoist Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal repents all his political misdeeds and personally invites NC President Sushil Koirala to lead the consensus government.
Paudel accused Dahal of jeopardising national interest for his peersonal and partisan interest and stated that he should present clarification for not forming consensus government in NC’s leadership as promised by him.
He added that his party was ready to mule on other alternatives if Prachanda came up with an apology to the NC President.
Speaking in the television talk R D Show, to be televised on Himalayan Television at 9 pm on Saturday, Paudel said that the trend of announcing PM candidate from the party’s general convention, as did by the UCPN Maoist, was not indicative of seeking consensus and resolution in national politics.
Paudel said that his party won’t accept the UCPN Maoist proposal to form consensus government in Chief Justice’s leadership, claiming that such a step would jeopardise the neutrality of the judicial organ itself.
He said that his party trusted the capacity of the CJ, but maintained that his party will not support the proposal that would ultimately fail multiparty democracy.
