Philanthropic contributions of UK-based Gulmi Sewa Samaj
LONDON: Gulmi Sewa Samaj, an organization of locals of Gulmi living in the UK, has extended over Rs 10 million so far during six years of its establishment.
Vice chair of Samaj Motiraj Bhandari said we have provided over Rs 10 million for different development projects in our hometown.
Samaj has handed over four ambulances in Johang, Wamitaksar, Dhurkot and Tamghas each so far. Similarly, Samaj has also supported the Asha Disabled Center, a Gulmi-based social organization working in the field of disability, for running different income generating programs.
Recently, Samaj has provided Rs 227,000 in cash and a power point for the organization. The Samaj has been supporting for schools, drinking water projects, road construction projects, natural disaster victims and others. Established by 20 members, 1000 people from the district living in the UK are its general members while 200 are life members.
