Saraswati Pooja Celebrated In the US



AMERICA/FLORIDA: Nepali School children here have offered worships to the Saraswati, (the goddess of knowledge and wisdom according to Hindu religion) on the occasion of Basanta Panchami, marking the beginning of spring season in different five cities of the United States.

More than 100 Nepali students have celebrated the Saraswati Pooja by worshiping the goddess (the day is considered as to carry good omen of  learning for children) here in Orlando, Jacksonville, Westpambeach, Tampa and Mayabi based Nepali School run by International Nepali Literary Society Florida Chapter.

Moreover Westpambeach School conducted different entertaining programmes and organized hymn citation programme in Drear Park to mark the Day.

While inaugurating the programme, Krishna Shrestha,  President of ANESAS, said that the objective of the programme was to enhance own culture, literature and language in foreign land.

Also expressing their views on the occasion were Dr. Archana Kattel, President of Florida Nepal Association, Bimal Nepal, President of Florida Association Nepalese Society, and Shanta Gautam, a teacher of the School.
