NC still at loggerheads on CJ-led government
KATHMANDU: Despite major political parties’ agreement to the CJ-led election and Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi’s approval to head the same, the opposition Nepali Congress is still divided over the same issue.
However, NC’s top guns have already agreed to accept the CJ-led government arguing that it was the only option to replace the Bhattarai-led government.
At a meeting of the central working committee meeting this morning, the disgruntled leaders strongly put their opinions against the CJ-led government and sensed rat that it was the Maoist’s ploy to impose totalitarian regime in the country.
NC leader Pradip Giri, Arjun Narsingh KC, Gagan Thapa, Sujata Koirala and many others have been challenging the party top leaders’ decision to agree on the CJ-led government. Instead they have said that party’s Mahasamiti Meeting could take action to the party top leaders for their decision to the unconstitutional move.
However, at the meeting, NC President had assured the disgruntled leaders saying that this was the only option to topple the Bhattarai-led government and the party should be ready for this at the cost of timely CA election.
