Home Minister holds talks with NC Chief
KATHMANDU: Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire had held talks with Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala over issues related to hold CA elections.
During the talk held at Koirala’s Maharjgunj based residence in the capital on Sunday morning, Ghimire inquired about the decisions taken by the major political parties on Saturday on issues concerning CA elections.
The meeting comes as part of the interim cabinet to expedite talks with political parties to make conducive environment for holding CA elections before June-July as agreed between political parties.
Lack of officials in key constitutional organs, including the Election Commission, has deterred the possibility of holding CA elections during the agreed time frame.
However political parties and the interim government has been in talks to resolve the crisis by making key appointments at the earliest.
