Interim Election Council’s Chief Khil Raj forms Constitutional Council

KATHMANDU: Giving a momentum to his performance and signalling timely CA elections, Chairman of Nepal’s Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi appointed three ministers as the members of the Constitutional Council (CC), a major body to make appointments in the constitutional bodies.

After the decision, the government would fill the vacant seats in major constitutional bodies including Election Commission, Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority and others.

Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Riddhi Baba Pradhan, Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Poudel and Minister for Home and Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire were appointed the members of the CC.

As per the constitution, the Prime Minister is the head of the CC. Similarly, Acting Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma is also a member in the committee.
