New Zealander robbed in Nepal
SOLUKHUMBU: A New Zealander was robbed in Northern Nepal of Solukhumbu district on Friday, a police officer confirmed.
The New Zealander was on the way to Tumlingtar of Sankhuwasabha from Lukla of Solu and was looted in a forest being confused with the route, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudan Singh Basnet.
The police officers have not released the identity of the tourist so far.
The tourist has been airlifted to Kathmandu today after rescue operation, said Basnet.
The robbers had thrashed the tourist and made off with his belongings worth 1,500 US Dollars including a camera, sleeping bag, jacket and 2,500 Nepali currency.
The robbers have fled the scene and search for the robbers is on, police said.
